Married Ward continue...

Someone made a comment on my blog, about the screaming children during sacrament meeting. Here is her response.

I stumbled across your blog while trying to find a hamster picture for mine...I do agree with you about kids being loud during sacrament but one day you'll be the one someone is blogging about too. Our Heavenly Father loves all his children, especially the little ones...even the ones who talk and cry during sacrament :)

Maybe, just maybe. Someone will be blogging about my children, hopefully something good. Because of what I learned in my current ward, I have decide I will do my best to teach my children to be reverent during the sacrament meeting. And I will take my children out of the sacrament hall when they are screaming, so others can worship reverently.

Here is what I found.

"...We encourage reverence when we take a crying child out of the chapel and find another room where we continue to listen to the meeting until the baby is calmed or a disruptive toddler is soothed..."
" ...A toddler can learn to fold his arms and get ready for prayer. But it takes time, patience, and consistency. Remember that we are not only teaching a child his first lessons in reverence, but the child may be mastering his first attempts at self-discipline..."

True Happiness

I truly believe that god gave us a way, Jesus Christ. So, we can follow his example, and return to our heaven father. I believe the only way to be happy on earth, is to do what God asked us to do. The only way to be happy, is through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Steve and I decided, that we will read one chapter a night. We started last night at 9pm, and I hope we will keep on going. We'll keep on trying to be better, and if we fail, we'll try again tomorrow. As long as we are better today than yesterday, I think we are on the right track.

I am a convert, (since age 12) there are many things I still don't understand. The scripture stories that Steve learned and heard since he was kid, and his mission has benefited him more understanding of the scriptures. It was really fun reading the scripture with him last night, because he'll paraphrase the verse. And it sounded like this, ".... the people were freaking out about the sign....they were running around like crazy.... bad people dropped to their knees... " Hence, maybe that's why God didn't ask Steve to keep a record of scriptures. It might have sound too gangster-ish.

Good day, nice to read Nephi 3 and I recently learned that Nephi 3 and Nephi 4 were two different guy name Nephi in different time. Father and son deal.

Steve just made the scripture come alive, and I can see it as a movie in my head when he gangster talk the scripture.

good times! good stuff~~

Married Ward

We are in a married ward with many newly weds, and new babies. There are also many todlers who can't sit still through the whole hour of sacrament. Some parents needs to know the noise level of their children will disturb others who are worshiping. How rude it is to let your shrieking kid stay in a congregation when you could have taken them out, and take care of them outside? Just because you can stand your high pitch shrieking kid doesn't mean that others can.

There was a kid who was sitting across the from us, he was so well behaved. he sat in his mom's arm, and just talked to her quietly. I was just looking at this little cute boy with long curly blond hair, and probably blue or green eyes. I notice that he dresses really well, and his cloths probably aren't from america. well, i would say not from american parents. Something struck me while i was studying his cloths, he wasn't speaking in English. The first thought i had was, " is it french?" and the answer was no. Then i listen closely, he was speaking fluent German!! I compliment the mom after the service, and told her how wonderful her boy behaved during the meeting.

1st month being married

To be honest, there are lots things to adjust. However, I am so much happier now that Steve is with me every day.

Saturday, I got up and started making crepes. This tradition has been established since we've been dating. And that is one of the things that we really enjoy to do together. This saturday, i let Steve sleep. He seem pretty tired, and i didn't want to wake him. He came out after smelling the yummy creps, and he helped me to cut some bananas for it. Then he helped me to clean up the whole kitchen. If I cook, he cleans up.. it's a pretty good deal~!

Yesterday we had our first guest in our new apartment! it was quite exciting! Nikki and Jordan came over for dinner, and we made some dumplings for Chinese new year. Yes, it is the year of ox, and I am currently 24 years old! The Chinese zodiac signs rotate every 12 years with 12 different animal signs... if that makes sense.

Dinner was really fun, and Nikki asked me what was the best thing of being married. Being me, the first thing that came out from my mouth was " it's great to have sex!" I was just being blunt, but in all reality, there are much more to tell her. I thought about it after she left, and I came up with some other thoughts.

Here are some of the best things of being married for me
  1. I get to see Steve every day ( we were aprt for the past 1 1/2 years)
  2. Steve is always there for me when I come home
  3. There's always someone there to listen to you, comfort you, laugh with you, being silly with you... someone to bicker with. someone to snuggle with, someone to love, and love back.
  4. someone to explain things to me, and don't think i am an idiot
  5. Someone to go to the temple with
  6. i have a permanent date
  7. I can make food for two, and not have to worry about left overs.
  8. two is always better than one.
  9. I want to be better for Steve
I just feel so bless to have met Steve, and married him. He is one of the bestest thing that has ever happen in my life. Finding someone that you can just be you when you are around them is such a fabulous blessing. No guessing, no game playing, just the original Steve and Jenn. No other things added.

Being married is great, but you got to find a balance of having your own time for both the husband and wife. I think it's very important to have your own space, so you can grow, improve yourself , then grow together.
